I know Poison Spyder makes louver covers for the Wrangler hoods but not one for the XJ. I emailed them about a month and a half back and never received a response. My plan was to adapt one of those to fit an XJ but needed some dimensions on those louvers to see which would fit an XJ hood best. Does anyone know where I could get the dimensions or have one installed that they could give me some dimensions?

You might try Gen Rite. They make some generic ones that I have seen on XJs

Yeah I've seen those and they are nice but I like the look of the panel covering the hood not just two vents split in the hood. I know the trick with the XJ's is the center line of the hood which is why I needed some dimensions to see which one would fit best.

Don't think I can help you there

Well Poison Spyder got back to me this to time after writing an email and they gave me some dimensions. Looks like the YJ model will be the best fit, I'll be mocking up some cardboard to see what kind of coverage ill be getting on the hood.

those are actually pretty sweet! Kinda reminiscent of a cheese grater, but still pretty sweet!

I've seen these and they do look good but they are pricey. I know I can go real low budget and make them myself but some that I've seen done this way just look like crap.

So here is my cardboard mock up according to Poison Spyder's measurements what the louver should roughly look like. Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Looks like it will work out OK

The only possible issue would be the back but I'm thinking I could gently massage a dent in it to cover the "valley" in the hood.
