I recently put on my long arms (after sitting in the garage for 2 years). While doing so. I noticed that the bushing on passenger side axle end is beyond expired. A local guy that owns a offroad shop is encouraging me to replace the rubber w a harder poly material. I'm not particularly partial to one material. But wanted some input from folks. Stick to rubber or poly bushings? My jeep leaks oil from every place it can. Yes I know, fix the leaks.
I also sold my fox shocks bc I didn't care for them. I'll be getting a set of Bilstein 5100's that are meant for the XJ. So the ride should be softer. Am I wrong to think that poly bushings wouldn't make that much of a firmer ride if everything else is rather smooth?

You will notice a difference, but not that much with the poly bushings. By my way of thinking, going to long arms and poly bushings will sort of cancel each other out. I have poly bushings and spherical rod ends. You feel it, but not intollerable

Think ill stick to my guy feeling on this then & stay w rubber. I'm also putting off fixing all the leaks. Oil pan, oil filter adapter O rings, valve cover, and main seal all leak. I fixed the tranny leak though. The oil pan looks like a PITA to fix.
