So I've come across the little yellow box under the dash a few times...
While working on cleaning up all my ground connections, I actually stopped and looked at it.
There are to adjuster dials on it
1- speed fast/slow
The other I don't recall...

And a third was a reset or something.

What is it and what does it do?

It is your cruise control computer

Hmmm, do the 97+ have those? Could be the reason mine won't even turn on

I think those were used on Renix era Jeeps and a few 91-92s then it was part of the ECU.

Another thing to add to the list of "don't work"

I guess as soon as I fix all the wiring and put the correct steering column in, I'll work on that too.

Now that I know what it is... I pulled up the Mitchell Troubleshooting:
3359

And given that the steering column is missing a big chunk (the PO only 1/2 assembled the controls on the left side of the column)...
AND given the fact that my turn signal does kill the radio...

I'm going with a short:bang:
...though I won't rule out a VACUUM LEAK!:mad0090:
What was Jeep thinking with the 1000 mi. of vacuum lines! :sad0147:

The were also used on on the 84-86 Jeeps. Usually when they don't work, it is because the box failed
