View Full Version : Turn Signal Won't Turn Off

So I just found out today that when I turn on the right turn signal and I make my turn, the signal doesn't retract and turn off. I have to turn it off manually. The left turn signal still turns off automatically after I make my turn. It's not a huge problem but it is mildly annoying especially when I've had a long day. Does anyone know how to repair it? I'd like to do it soon if I can.

You are gonna need a new signal switch. The parts are plastic in there and wear out and break in time. I am surprised mine haven't done it too

Yep, switch. And I know for Texas state inspection it won't pass if it doesn't return itself. Don't know about your state though

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 because my microwave couldn't do it

Fortunately, we don't have that type of inspection here

So this "switch", where is it located and how do I get to it? Should I get it new or just buy the part from pick n pull?

If it was me I would put in a new one, With my luck I would get one from the junk yard with about 2 weeks of life left.

its the entire stalk that will be replaced. there are 2-4 screws underneath the steering column that need to be removed. Then the two halves of the steering collar separate and can be removed for installation. The whole switch can then be removed and replaced.

So what exactly does it look like? Is it that white thing in the column? If so, does that whole thing need to be replaced by taking out those 3 screws?

check the 2 springs @ 12 & 7 clock position, if they not broken, probably switch under this white plastic thing

Oh man, I replaced it with a new one since the spring was broken and now that one on the left blinker this time is working sporadically. Sometimes the left one retracts and sometimes it doesn't...hilarious -_-
