I need information on what front axel would be the best bet for 35's locked? Ford 3/4 or one ton? What year truck to look for?

My son has 35's on his non locked and I have 37's on mine locked with alloy axels and beat the crap out of them. neither one of us has problems'INMHO 30-35 axels get a bad rap. Build them right and they will take you where you want to go

I agree... I have a 30 locked, and a stock 35... Wheel responsibly, and don't try to drag race it up hills and rocks, and it seems to be just fine....

Nothing wrong with upgrading axles. However, if you wanna stay with 35's Id go with a D44 out of a older half ton ford or a wagoneer. The 1ton axles (D60) are very big and cost alot of ground clearance. With only 35" tires you would be dragging the diff over everything.

As was said, wheel responsibly and you will be alright. However, the 9"/44 combo out of a Ford will get the job done
