Hey all, my 99 is in dire need of new shocks so I want to budget lift it at the same time. I found these two sets on ebay. They are both about the same price however have two different ways of lifting the rear. I am not sure which is better for me??

I am new to lifting jeeps. I've owned two XJ's and never lifted either. I don't want mechanical issues or a big ordeal so I want a 2" lift or less. My rear springs are sagging a little, 30x9.5" tires, the whole jeep has 226 miles.

They are more pricey but have really good quality lifts. They usually do 2-3 inch lifts and like to keep the same stock ride feel.

Suspension systems, especially when referring to 4WDs, are extremely complex. Determining the right solution for each 4WD requires special attention to many factors, with weight being the most critical. Old Man Emu 4x4 suspension by ARB approaches this in a unique way.
The Concept:
When an emu (flightless Australian bird) runs, its powerful legs absorb most of the impact, allowing it to move over all types of terrain while its body remains virtually motionless. This is what Old Man Emu strives to achieve with its range of fully integrated 4x4 shocks and suspension systems.
The Difference:
Instead of offering a compilation of parts that have been chosen primarily to increase the vehicle's ride height, OME 4x4 suspension provides a range of tuned and matched integrated systems, each offering optimum levels of comfort, load carrying capability and control characteristics.
The Outcome:
Prototype shock absorbers and springs are tested and modified in a variety of terrains and with varying loads to ensure that each shock and spring combination is ideally suited to a vehicle, its varying weights and the terrain it is to encounter.

There are a lot of options out there like rough country has some small lifts and there are a few others.

I would go with the kit that comes with the shackles. Over time the add-a-leafs will lose lift, the shackles never will. However I would look for some lower mileage leafs for the rear at a junkyard that are saging as bad and install them while your doing lift. If not it will still squat in the back even after the lift, no matter which kit you go with.

I bought a Rusty's 2" with the AAL and front coils. I haven't installed it yet though.
