My seat belt would not retract any more. So after a month of getting the belt stuck in the door when I exited I decided to take it out and clean/repair it.

First I removed the trim piece around the belt
Then I removed the T50 torx bolt.
Next I removed the upper cover and another T50 bolt.

The seat belt “reel” came out I began to clean/ oil . I removed the black end cap and cleaned and oiled.

Then when I removed the red end cap . A” jack in box” type spring popped out causing me to crap my pants.
Yea I didn’t see the DO NOT REMOVE on the cover till it was too late.
The new belt will be here Monday.

The worst part is that pull apart didn't have any in a charcol color that was in good shape and not covered in blood. so I picked up a tan one. till the new one gets here. Talk about looking goofy driving down the road. tin foil hat, mismatched socks, talking to myself and now a tan seat belt

I don't think we have armadillos here. We do have plenty of skunks. But it didn't work out so well the last time I tried to wear one.

You are supposed to skin them first :rolleye0012:

If anyone asks about why the different color...
Tell them that seat belts are rated in tensile strength, and since the writing always wears off, they color code the belts.
Tan = strongest
Charcoal = medium
... and Red = weakest! ~ so you won't notice the blood as much.

PS. The armadillo would match the tan belt.
Problem solved.
