Is this trail worthy of the 4 hour drive? And anyone interested for weekend of 21st?

That is not too far from me. Let me do a little research. If you don't do anything there, you can come with me up into High Lakes the back way which is not too far I don't think

Change of plans... We are going to head to rubicon springs and camp and canoe and stuff...

Lots of people there, but I am sure you will like that better. IIRC, there is an OHV route close to Gold Lake but it is not a challenging one
