While I was junk yard hunting the other day I found a stock climate control system bypass pulley and bracket
...painted with some extra engine paint I had laying around
2428

When I swap out the alternator
$13 2429

I'm gonna clean out ALL THIS CLUTTER!
2430

Also gonna kank the mechanical fan and run a dual fan from a Ford Probe/Mustang in a push pull setup
...with the AC radiator out, there's enough room for a push fan like in the Probe that can run with the engine. Then the Mustang fan will kick in at 190° and the stock AC fan (if it fits) will be a manual

Oddly
The bracket was $10 and the pulley was $10 =$20 total.
Rough condition to say the least.

The alternator = $12.96 + core deposit of $7
Virtually new

Here in the south we'd rather remove the steering wheel before we take out the A/C.
Good Job cleaning em up. They look new.
Just curiuos, were you haveing a problem with it running hot or are you just trying to nip that bud?
I think the push/pull fans is a good idea. (but I don't know much on the subject)
let us know how it works out

Generally I wouldn't pull the AC either. But since moving to the Northwest, it doesn't get too hot. We only break 90 maybe a dozen times a year.
But more than that, the PO killed the AC before I owned it. So it would take ???? to get it working... and it's starting to cherp ~ so I'm thinking a bearing.

I haven't had issues with the alt getting too hot. But that's 1 of the common complaints of that style.
I was looking for the additional amps (140+ vs. 105) and the kit has bigger/better bearings and includes the finned rear section.
So heat reduction is a bonus

Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me.
We had 90 degree weather here once. I believe it was christmas eve of 04

will if your a/c is bad and you are going to get red of it you might think about using the space for on-bourd air.

What's that?
...I was gonna settle for 2x60+ since I fixed the vent windows.

I thought about that. Would be nice to have pneumatic tools when and where I want
