First off, Thanks Steve for this weeks jeep tips. I've had my jeep for about 5 years now and never thought to change my O2 sensors. I'm old school and these new fangled autos mystify me.
So I picked some up at napa. but had a few questions.
1. I take it you ment both upstream and down stream sensors. If I only had money to do one at a time witch one should go first? ( I never knew there was 2)

2. both are stuck on there tight. What are the chances of the sensor disintegrating If i put a big pipe on the end of my wrench. I'm not too keen on useing a torch. Me and fire don't get along to well.. but I'll do it if I have to.

Thanks again.

You can run the vehicle for a little while to heat it up, that should help a lot. But be careful.

First, this underscores the need for antisieze on the threads. Second, yes warming it up will help. It shouldn't disintegrate if you only put torque on the metal

If it were me and I only had one I would do the upstream sensor as it communicates with the computer and helps control the fuel ratio. The downstream one is for emissions. At least that is my understanding.

Got it done today,
I ran the jeep for about 30 min to get it nice and warm. I used a big ol cheater bar and with a lot of pulling they come out. and I only grabbed the hot pipe once before I put on some leather gloves.
Thanks again guys.

Great to hear! And hey, now you can rob a bank without the worry of leaving prints behind. :D

Did you put anti-seize on the replacement O2?
