XJ Newb Question

So, I was pulling out of Walmart this afternoon, and a kid in
a late 80's XJ gave me the Jeep wave. Now, I've experienced this countless times before years ago, when I had my CJ 5, but I had no idea this was protocol for XJ's too! LOL! I'm sure I've passed dozens of other Cherokee's on the road, but this was the first time I saw that. Do you guys wave at all other XJ's or just the modified ones ( which mine isn't and neither was the other guy)?

Usually I get the nod from other XJs. Wrangler owners don't pay me much attention

If its modified i'll wave either way. If they wave no matter what vehicle i'll wave, sure. I mostly get people talking to me. Either a passing "Nice Jeep". Every once in a while i get someone that wants to talk more. lol. One time i was renting a movie and this guy was under my Jeep looking around. We had a good talk, he had a stocker and wanted to mod it. His wife was with him, she didn't seem too happy about it though. :D

Nobody really pays attention to xjs... Must be a jeep thing... Wait... Lol
I use to wave at all jeep owners... Now, I rarely wave because everyone is too stuck up... I pulled into the parking lot at the grocery store last night, and this guy in a moded wrangler was getting out of his. I parked expecting to chat for a bit, but he jumped out and booked into the store... Like he avoided me .. must be a pavement pounder.

LOL, were you in NC? I've asked other XJ owners if I can look under and take a pic. I'm gathering lift information. Most people are happy to show off thier rig. as for waveing.. I wave at just about anyone that gives me eye contact..

I've had maybe 2, and I usually pass by around one xj a day in Houston... usually not 4x4. Most of them don't even look over. Of course, I rarely see another modified one, but I almost always see them in my rear view mirror checking out my Jeep as I pass.

I used to get a kick out of flipping other jeep drivers off when they would wave,
just to see the look on their face, LOL! Hey I'm from Jersey...

I don't wave. Well I do wave at the other xj's on the trail.....cause they are the only ones I respect.

I always ask first,,,, we're a Conceale and carry state. Messing with somones car, thats a good way to catch a bullet.

I can't ever tell if I get a Jeep wave or a regular wave. This is rural Oklahoma. Everybody waves at everybody.:D

Just got waves from two wranglers while in my brothers '90, from 1 yj and 1jk (separate occasions).
