i was just surfing the internet and saw that the 2002 grand cherokee with i6 has the alternator on top of the engine...Does anyone know if they make something that just bolts right up when you delete the a/c? couldn't really find anything online.

Alternator relocation on an XJ ????

If you're lucky - you might find a wreckers with a RHD sitting in there - so you can use the factory fittings .. ??

I would think that if it did just bolt right up, that there would be several write ups on it by now on several websites.

Looks to me that if you did that you would have to have the complete set and also efan to go with it

I'll have to take a closer look at the TJ. The alternator is top pass side. It's a 4.0 so I suspect you could use that alternator bracket but I don't know how the rest would go together. They have the A/C lower driver's on the TJ.

Here's a thread on how to do it , I personally have not done this , but It looks like it would work just fine with or without A/C

This is the best write up I've seen so far for it. I have a rhd and its in the same spot as the lhd as far as I can tell from pics ive seen

I think this would be an awesome mod to do... especially if you can make it all work using factory parts!! Heck I've killed my alt driving quite slowly through water at high tide... Luckily for me it started to work again after I got it to dry out...
