View Full Version : What is this and how do we do this to our XJs?

Saw this on my LMTV and thought it was a great idea for ground clearance and saving the drive shaft from rocks and such.

Do they do this for the Dana axles?

I bet a transfer case could be modified to do that, and even provide more gearing. It would kind of large and bulky for our axles though and make the driveshaft that much shorter.

You could clock the transfer case if you wanted to hack up your floor boards. But you cannot do that to a dana differential. The closest thing is an add on portal axle kit which bolts on to the spindle area, increases track width and raises the whole axle. Unimogs have them from the factory

Yeah a tcase couldnt bolt to the dana axle, but you could put a ujoint between them. It would be a royal PITA to do all of that though.

wouldnt help much anyways ,,,diff still lowest bit under them .......
