In an effort to compile a useful list of measurements based on lift, tire size, etc... lets measure our Jeeps and post up the results.

Now what do information do we need to collect?

Here's what I'm thinking.

Cherokee Year
Lift Manufacture
Lift Advertised Size (inches)
Tire Manufacture
Tire Size
Winch (Yes/No)
Rear Bumper Tire Carrier (Yes/No)
Custom Front bumper (Yes/No)
Custom Rear Bumper (Yes/No)

Then the measurements. I'm thinking the measurements should be made from the ground to the fold on the front fender and the fold on the rear quarter panel. As far forward and rearward as possible.

Hmmm perhaps a estimated age of lift, in other words how long as it been installed on your Jeep.

Thoughts?

Stock Jeeps would be excellent information to have as well. Lift Manu; would be Jeep and Lift Age would be however old the Jeep is.

This would allow people to have a good idea what kind of height increase a lift really would give them. I mean a 4.5" lift may be much more since the 4.5" is based on original leaf and coils as they came from the factory.

I have a stock 2001 Cherokee and would love to get you this measurements but there are no level spots here in Germany. When I get a chance I will see what I find.

That's great, but there are no measurements, also we're in the discussion phase right now. I just need to make sure I'm not leaving something out we need to record.

I don't knoe what other measurements you were wanting. I measured 37 inches to the fold in the fender like you demonstrate in the first post. What'd I miss, and I'll provide the measurements?

Sorry I read it about 3 times, and just now saw the line with the measurement.

Well, actually, as I read it again...I did it wrong.:out::D:D The line that I provided the measurement on I think was supposed to be the advertised lift height, right?

In any case, I'm 37 inches, front and rear, from the ground to the fold in the fenders.

1. 94 xj sport 4door

2. 3 inch rough country lift coils with 2 inch RC coil spacers and 2 inch add a leafs with 2 inch aluminum blocks, so 5 inch front and 4 inch rear with saggy leafs.

3. 32.11.50 15 pro comp MT

4. 15x8 Mickey Thompson classic locks.

5. Front winch bumper home made, with 8000 lb warrior winch

6. Have the back loaded with a tool box, speakers, and camping equipment.

My front measures 40 and a half inches

My rear at the tail gate measures 43 and a half

I have measured how much lift mine ACTUALLY has but i don't park on anywhere near level ground and i know remembering this when i'm out is gonna be next to impossible. So, i'll edit it in when i finally get that measurement.

Also, i think adding some more info could be useful as i'm sure a 4.0 ways a good bit more than a 2.5, as well as 4dr and 2dr. And whether its the a.a.l. or full leaf packs, as many kits offer both.

1. '92 Laredo 4Dr 4.0l aw4
2. Rubicon Express
3. 4.5" superflex short arm w/full leaf packs
4. Bfgoodrich All terrains
5. 31x10.5-15 near full tread
6. no
7. no
8. no
9. no

I measured my lift to have actually given me 5" in the front and 5.5" in the rear. I normally carry probably around 125 lbs of stuff in the back though.

Level ground really isn't important is it? I mean if you're on a 45 degree angle it might, but really you're measuring from the ground to the fold, so level shouldn't be important.

I park on blocks so the ground below those spots would be way off.

So it looks like I'm at 41 7/8" front (measured from the ground giving overall height)
2277

And 44 3/4 rear (measured from the ground giving overall height)
2278
