Hello just droppin' in to tell you all that I finally fixed my overheating problem! Yes it is possiable for cheap. I own a 93 jeep Cherokee 4.0L 4" misc. lift 33x12.50 r15 and yes Stock gears 3.55. That is one of my issues in the overheating of my xj. But for now it seems to not be overheating due to a new Compressor Works/Electric Fan Thermostat $17.99 comes with everything you need basic hand tool and drill. I wired my up in an hour and it wires up to the shock Cherokee electric fan and the degrees are adjustable from 140F to 240F

When was it over heating? Highway speeds, or low speed and idle?

If low speed and idle, did you check/replace the fan clutch? I'm concerned you didn't fix the problem but just masked it.

Hey mud... I bought this kit... Mainly to have the fan kick on earlier for tranny cooler... Question, where would be the best place for the thermostat part to be? The coil, uncoiled, or coiled?http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/04/14/umy7yqyv.jpg

I've never used one of those, so I'm not sure. I would think that it would be best to be on the hottest part. Where the coolant comes out of the engine before it's cooled through the radiator.

If you're most concerned with Tranny fluid temps, I would put in in the Tranny line in to the Radiator trans. cooler section. Bear in mind though, that doing thus might throw off your engine temps being in the correct range.
