The air box did have few holes there and we used washers and metal pot rivets with some sealant.
Was one hell of a job to do. Cuz had to relocate the washer bottle and move wiring and hoses. But with some strong hands a washer bottle from >94 XJ fitted well.
When driving up hill you can hear it working as the left side gets a little noisy when working engine hard. Having 2.5L it's working harder.

Hard to tell from the pics but which snorkel did you go with?

It's the same set up as the Safari Snorkel but it was alot cheaper and quality isn't that bad, so the tube runs to the front of the air filter housing.
