Hi,

I'm looking for "all metal" radiator.
I live in Israel, a hot country (~35-40c during the summer).
I saw that one:
3 rows all metal on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-98-99-2000-01-Jeep-Cherokee-Champion-Cooling-Sys-3-Row-Aluminum-Radiator-/360623231258?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f6d1d11a&vxp=mtr)

Does anyone know it? any other store/firm?
Thank you,
Saar.

It sure looks like the one Tony (Mudderoy) has in his Jeep. Sure is a pretty unit

Based on some of the discussions here, and the success I had with a large tube single row aluminum/plastic, I went with an all aluminum two row.

There has been some discussion about three rows blocking air flow and retaining heat.

I think mine is a "Eagle" all aluminum two row. It was about $180 I believe.

Thank you Mudderoy,

Is it that one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/321076078794?item=321076078794&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:eRTM:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr) ?
Do you live in a hot area?

Thanks,
Saar

Hi,

Ordered the Al 2 rows radiator + Ford Taurus 3.8 electric fan.
It is going to very very interesting soon :)

PS, did anyone add a transmission oil cooler instead of the one in the radiator?
If you did, which cooler did you buy?
Thanks.

I have a cooler with a fan on a thermostat in my hood. Not for everyone, but works well.

Might want to consider an alternator upgrade too. I have one of those and they pull a lot of amps. 85 on startup and 37 running on high speed

The B&M Super cooler #70268 is the trans cooler i use, and it fits well. If you have cooler climates some of the year i suggest routing the cooler after the trans, instead of deleting the radiator from the trans line routing. This will help warm the trans in cold temps.

Approx 10"x10"x3/4" stacked plate unit.

Radiator Bypassed.

Works fine 20*f - 110+*f weather ambients.

Stable temp measured at the sump - usually about 160*f ... Takes a few extra miles to warm during winter.

Being a RHD model ... the mechanical fan is behind it, NOT the aux electric one. ;)

A stacked plate transmission cooler such as the B&M sold by Summit Racing would be a good choice. In your case since the winters can be cool, I suggest you plumb the external cooler and the radiator cooler in series with the return line coming from the radiator to the tranny. That way you'll get maximum cooling in the summer and still have the fluid warmed up by the radiator coolant in the winter.
The Taurus fan has a very high amp draw so you'll need to consider an alternator upgrade (to at least 130amp).

Hi,

I just found out that... I already have a transmission cooler.
Yes, silly me. I own the Jeep for 9 years and only now noticed that :)
So I guess there is no need for an extra one.
Thank you,
Saar.
