My front end ticks. At first I was sure it was just the flex plate bolts so I pulled cleaned and tightened them. No fix. It doesn't make the noise in neutral revving so it's not engine. It makes the noise when I begin forward movement. Seems to be slightly related with speed but after about 1ph it's hard to hear it. I have a clip I uploaded to YouTube.

Could this be something with my front axle? I haven't changed my front diff oil in a while because my fill plug is frozen.

Could be the front axle, however on the flex plate.... did you inspect it for cracks around the bolt holes?

Have you checked the drive shafts for play? As in a bad u-joint?

Also, look for something bent and hitting a moving part. Like the backing plates.
