If you got a new tranny then obviously the mileage count would start over.

AX-15 with 240+K miles. As far as I know it has not been rebuilt, I know it had a new clutch when I got it.

And it works good. And, it lowered the price of the Jeep by several thousand dollars because of a bad leak :D

Update, My automatic tranny is now at 206K, and still shifting smooth. The next fluid and filter change is coming up in 10 K. Is it possible to make it to 300K on the same tranny.

How many miles did you have on it before the rebuild?

I bought the Jeep with around 175k on it. Apparently, the owners before them used to flat tow it behind an RV... no telling if they towed it correctly or not.

I don't know what others do, but I take my XJ's to a regular transmission shop for a full service. I try to go every 30,000 miles(sooner if the fluid turns brown). The full service cost $118.00 with tax and takes about 1 1/2 hours. The owner recommends an additive called lubeguard(available at NAPA and O'Reilly's.

Might as well add our zj. 258k on all stock trans. Started slipping a while back and a fluid changed brought it back. Perfect now.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

WEll I sued to have the tranny fluid and filter changed every 45 K which is excellent.

Now every 25K I pull the drain plug and drain the fluid (only half will come out each time you drain it). Pull the plug then put the plug in very tight mind you we drained. I do this every 25K twice then at 75K I will take it in and have athe guy change the filter. So every 3rd time the filter gets changed.

The I refill it with the red 5 quart bottle of the valvoline high mileage tranny fluid. Good stuff.
