My son driving this morning(92 xj auto) going about 50 when all of a sudden he lost power and the jeep died. CPS? I was going to call him back with possible help.

CPS sounds like a good place to start.
I had this happen to me once, the coating off of my O2sensor melted away and I was getting an electrical arc across my engine. It shorted out everything. I was still getting some power, but Scarlet was dead on the side of the road.

I hope you get it figured out, good luck!!

maybe CPS, how old is it?
Does it crank? - how bright is headlight?
Does she have a fuel in rail - can be checked by pressure port
Does she have a spark - can be check with pulled spark plug grounded on engine and cranking?

We have a link on here on how to pull the codes on a 92. Have him do that and narrow it down for sure.

He just said it would not restart and had it towed to a repair shop. Thanx for all the input. I will pass it on.
