Joined up a little while ago researching Cherokees, really couldn't decide between a xj or zj. When I found this, my decision was made. 90 xj 4.0 auto, 3" lift cut fenders and 31" federal mts. Let me know what y'all think. First up are recovery points. Ive seen alot of people run rustys but I'm not a fan of the open hook design. If anyone has any input on that it would great! Thanks!

Here's a few shots of the driveway flex. Should have better pics tommarow.

:welcome: Well it's hard to tell by the pictures, but 99.9% of the time any Jeep Cherokee is a good one.

Being in Kentucky, well really being anywhere, but since you're in the same state, you might want to have a look at DetoursUSA.com. Mark is a long time vendor here and I personally run his rear bumper. I also have a custom front bumper from DETOURS. Tow points are d-rings that attach to the bumpers.

I agree with you, no open hooks, I mean unless it's factory and it's better than nothing.

ANY recovery point is better than NO recovery point.
I'm currently running the Rugged Ridge front tow hooks.

You can see my pic-heavy write up on the install of them HERE (http://www.xjtalk.com/showpost.php?p=122072&postcount=26)

I've been pleased with them thus far, thankfully only needing them a couple times. Once to recover, once to BE recovered.
Open hook design, but with a retaining clip on the open side.

Mudderoy brings up a good point, Detours USA makes some GREAT stuff, has awesome pricing, and would be a fantastic addition to great platform you have there already.

Good luck with the build, and welcome aboard. Glad to have you around!

Mason, once you have brackets on for the hooks, there are other style hooks to choose from. Unfortunately this style seems to be the default hook. Might have to open some catalogues to find what you want. But there is a style I like that wraps about 270° that won't allow the strap to fall when it is slack

Thanks for the input on the hooks! I agree any recovery point is better then none but might as well do it like I want to start with. I do like the clip to hold the strap from slipping off.
