Now that I'm putting an aftermarket bumper on the Jeep I'm finding a few bits need to be relocated. I've got them all sorted except for the vacuum cannister that normally bolts to the inside of the stock bumper on the passenger side. The new bumper has some bracing in that same area so I can't put it back in it's "stock" location. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can put this sucker?

I'm sure I've seen this question posted before but I can't seem to find it again. Thanks!

Thanks Greg... that's what I was thinking I'd end up doing. It's pretty crowded under the hood though. The only free spot I saw was up on the passenger side firewall. Where abouts is yours in the engine compartment?

It can go anywhere you can fit it conveniently. Engine compartment is best since it is protected there

Same place on the firewall

Somewhere in a XJTalk thread, theres a pic of the bottle mounted on the firewall ...

I opted for this when I did mine ... http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?p=138514&highlight=vacuum#post138514

Just to wrap this thread up... the bottle is now mounted behind the front radiator sheet metal support, next to and belowish the steering box. I can snap a picture if anyone is interested.

Mounted mine next to the PDC, seemed like a perfect fit.

Here are the pics I promised of the new mounting location for the vacuum bottle. I still need to re-plumb it.

I started by finding an appropriate mounting hole. I attached the bottle on the outside and used spray paint to mark the location for the second hole. I need to get another sheet metal screw but the zip tie will do for now.
