I need to change the drivers door upper hinge pin on my ride. I have a drill with grinding stones, and rotary rasp. Can this be used? It supposed to be good for soft metal. I keep reading about using a Dremel tool. My questions is Is the Dremel powerful enough for this use? Any specific model necessary? Recommendation for a particular rotary tool? Thanks

Dremel worked like a charm.

One of my Dremels gave out (the variable speed adjuster was intermittent) after a couple of years. I wrote Dremel that I was disappointed in the product, based on my prior experience with their products. They repaired the device at no charge.

But yes, if you really wail on the tool, it will get really hot. It also depends on if you are using the correct bit, for the job you are doing. For difficult to access areas, it might be helpful to have their right angle adapter.
