I'd like to create a setup like the one in the pic, only with some HID or other equally bright/clear heads.

Anyone know where I could possibly find a kit like this? I haven't had any luck in searching thus far....:bang:

Well you have THESE (http://www.oviedosafetylights.com/JW-Speaker--HID-&-LED-Lights/JW_Speaker_Model_8900_LED_High@Low_Beam_Headlight)
Which look more like spider eyes than those:

I found this pic on Ausjeepoffroad.com

Apparantly it was a 97 "Euro-Spec XJ, with a 2.5L turbo deisel, otherwise known as the Jeep Casablanca. It was supposed to be a "Special Edition" Cherokee, but was never produced.

Detours did a custom conversion of one as seen here:

You might want to give them a call and ask some questions.

This guy chopped up a couple CJ grilles and did a TON of metal massaging to get the finished product you see here:

I've seen this done a few times before.....
Basically just a Hella 500 mounted in the core support....

All the other ones I have seen, have all been custom one-off fabrications.
To my knowledge, there is not "retro-fit-kit" available.

Well I did some digging around, I'd venture to say that this is a complete custom conversion.

Holy cow those are nice, and another holy cow because of the price. Thanks for the info- I'm really tired of the yellow-ish, not very bright lights, but at $500+ I dunno if I'm THAT tired of them! Interesting design, tho..

Looks like it may be time to Fab something =-)

replace the bulbs at 20'ish each. You can also sand and refresh the lenses for about the same price

X2 what Pook said above.....
......and definitely think about upgrading the headlight harness....that'll make the BIGGEST difference.
And at only about $40 or less, its a mod you almost cant afford NOT to do.
Most Cherokee guys that have done this say its one of their most favorite mods.
Check out the write-up I did when I did this to MY XJ. (lots of pics)

I have plastic housings with glass fronts and IPF Fatboy bulbs. Much better than stock and I haven't even upgraded the wiring yet
