What transmission?

So I found a low mile engine/trans/t-case on Craigslist and after checking it out I bought it. Its an 89 4.0 with 5spd and a 231. Got to looking at it and its the split case trans, BA10/5 if I remember right. I have heard some people say good and more people say bad about these.
What are your views on these.
My other Cherokee had one and it did ok. I abused the hell out of it and I always made it home. Anyways thanks.

They don't have a reputation for being strong. But if you can make it work, go for it

My 91 has the AX10 in it. I dont have any issues with it right now so...
Will the t-cases interchange between the two?
The price was too good to pass up.

I think the spline count on the output shaft is the same, so yes based on that as long as it is an XJ tcase. If YJ or TJ it will be clocked higher
