G'day mates,

I've been all over ebay and my regular Jeep parts sellers on ebay and in my area, and of course Crysler dealership

I need to replace my MAP, however all I can find is ones suitable for 1997-2001 XJ Sport 2/4 door. Is that compatible with the 1996? the charts on ebay say no but some charts say yes. Crysler says it needs to be special order which means more $$$

would love to here some more knowledgeable man cave mechanics and experts opinions on this.

cheers

They do indeed appear to be different. Several companies, such as JC Whitney have them. About half again more than a 97, but they are still affordable and less than most O2 sensors

thanks for that, I actually just found these about 5 minutes ago.

Problem here is I was searching Just Australia where Jeep's are classified as an import

only issue's (not sure if they're related) is the rough idle and high fuel usage. Also, accelerating between 80-100 km/phr (mostly entering the fwy) it skips or hesitates a bit. Also noticed last week going to Sydney that going up some of those long steep fwy hill it took me putting my foot to the floor just to keep it at 95, and it stayed just over 3000 rpm's until I got over it.

Fuel pump and filter were just replaced as was to distributor and leads, sparkies etc before I bought it. I got it mid Nov 2012 and all this was done by last owner who was the sole owner since the build date (he gave me all the work receipts ever lol, but good to know and have 'em i reckon

Check the bits on your vehicle for any part numbers ... for comparison.

You'll shop cheaply using U.S. outlets ... but you need to know for certain what they are going to send you ... as freight costs are generally ... ridiculous .. especially if you have to return something for exchange .. ;)

Tis why I still get a fair bit of stuff thru aussie suppliers.

Keep this link handy ... and give Dave a bell ... if you dont have any joy - web shopping.

My Daughter and Son-in-Law Live in Canada, plus I use to live there and have a few mates, I can always get them the part number and send them to Mopar, I know of an outlet close to where they all live. I use to live at that shop when I had my 88 XJ Laredo
