got a quick question that might sound silly but, my '88 XJ Laredo's quarter draft windows use to open and my '96 quarter windows never did, can they be modified to open?

My 96 didn't open. I picked up a pair that did for 5 bucks at a junk yard.. took about 10 min. each to install.

Cool, so i don't need to replace the doors, i think there are 1 or 2 at poly 4x4 here in Melbourne, they service only jeeps as well as wreck only jeeps

so I got this, just in case anyone else finds it useful. I'll post it in a new thread later with appropriate tags

YOU NEED:

- Vent window assembly
- Philips screwdriver
- T15 Star screwdriver

NB: this conversion will work for deletion of pivoting vents or vice vers ca

Step 1
Clean the assembly + tint windows

Step 2

1- 3 screws holding the controls + metal handle

Step 4

-Roll down the windows
-Open the pivot vent windows to get a decent grip of the assembly
-PULL horizontally to the outside then UPWARDS by pulling away the pillar from the top

Step 5

Slide in the new assembly making sure that the main window slides in the grove of the pillar.
attach back the 3 bolts

Step 6

attach the trim back
