I think Tony has installed an Aussie in his 8.25, but I'm not sure.

I just got an Aussie for my 29 spline 8.25 and was wondering. Can I just remove the center pin, pop the c clips, and pull the axles out about 6 inches to install the locker? Or does the carrier have to come out?

I can't find any youtube video's or information specific to the 8.25.

you can just pop the pin and pull the clips and install the locker. RTM the last step can be a pain putting the clip back in if you don't read the manual.

I have installed two Aussies and found it easier to remove the carrier both times. But you can do it either way

I would remove it if it was in the front diff or a d35. But not A 8.25 because when you reinstall it you will have to readjust those preload adjusters on both sides which can be a pain. And since the 8.25 has a bolt holding the pin in instead of a roll pin, its really not that bad to do it while in the diff.

You have to install the locker with the carrier in the housing otherwise you wouldn't be able to put the c-clips on you axle shafts. If you have an axle that doesn't use c-clips it's easier to to do on your work bench.
