So I'm bidding on a 4x4 cherokee with 230K miles. '88 model. Whats the most you would pay for it?

FYI I'll either part it out (D30 for me) or sell it simply to make a few hundred bucks. Whats the most you pay? No body damage, just a bajillion miles. It runs and drives. 4x4 works, interior is in good shape.

I honestly don't think I'd go much over $1000 for it. And I kinda think that's pushing it. Maybe $800?

No offense, but why part out a running, driving xj? I see ones that have blown engines, wrecked, etc all the time for sale. I don't know, i guess i just get sad when they go to part-out heaven. But, probably $1,000 if its fully functional.

I'm buying it to sell. If someone wants it running and driving, they can have it. If not, then I'll start parting it

got it home safely yesterday on one of those janky uhaul tow dollies. worked surprisingly well. leaky valve cover is about all I've found so far.

What did you end up paying for it, if you don't mind me asking?

550 + 150 buyer fees. Had dry rotted tires on it so I had to spring for some new ones since I was 120 miles from home. I'll prolly put used ones on it and keep the new ones for another project

I thought so. Gonna replace the valve cover gasket so it doesn't smell like someone dumped a couple quarts of oil in the carpet and put it up for sale. Its in pretty good shape for its age. Got it at 1850 on local CL and getting a few nibbles.

also found this in the back of it: http://www.etrailer.com/Tow-Bars/Roadmaster/RM-501.html looks like a $500 tow bar

so I kept it!
