Hi There,
I found you folks while looking around the web about Cherokees as a good deal came up on a 98 limited that will be the perfect project for myself and my 14 year old daughter.
Thanks for all the great info so far
Eric

She is all in to get it where we want it to be. Ready to get her hands dirty as we both learn about the Jeep world.

Play it by ear so far. Tires, some lights, Throttle body spacer, standard upgrade for tune-ups ie: better wires, plugs and such. Other than that we have no clue yet. We want to take it camping, some sand pits, some mud and to deal with Canadian winters

Nothing wrong with playing it by ear... Def. sounds like a pretty decent starting plan for a build... I know that the winters up that way can get pretty crazy.. I spent part of a winter up in the BC area, and that was a pretty crazy trip with the snow and such.. I would say to try and put a small lift on, to give you a bit of clearance for the harsh snow drives/fun!!

so like a 1.5" or 3". Just so long as I don't have to do any cutting or welding I can do it myself. I think there is a ongoing thread about tire sizes so I'll dig for a post on that
Thanks for the warm welcome

I'd say probably 3" and either 30 or 31" tires... here is a link for ya. Tire size & Lift Heights (http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=400)..

Welcome Eric. 3" lift is a good size. Might want to rethink the throttle body spacer though. They were designed for throttle body injection systems, not port injection.
