I think a lot of that has to do with the age and condition of your engine, tire size, and gears in the diffs.

What's the minimum gas mileage you are willing to accept?

Bigger tires, gear, heavy bumpers, etc all add weight which adds to the drag that the 4.0 liter must over come.

I would say when it starts to sag in the middle , it to heavy :0. Seriously though I don't think you could ever add enough to hurt one. As has been posted already how much gas milage and speed are you willing to give up. The 4.0 are a very good low torque motor so if your just gonna off road it , I wouldn't worry about it.

well mine is off road only i trailer it i mean in the mud i don t want it to get to heavy how much does the rough country bumper weigh thanks

It is to heavy when your tires look like they are aired down to 1lb. and there are realy full at 40lb.:rolleye0012:

Bumpers can run from about 30# to 160# Then add 50# of winch unless you use synthetic line
