i went to 4wd auto parts in coloradosprings colorado. to day. i told him i want 4.10 or 4.56 gears for a 8.25 axle, and that i only want to run 32/1150/15 tires. he told me not to waste my money, and get a dana 44. then i was told that the 8.25 is no beter then the the dana 35 c. just want to make sure he is right. i see alot of you guys run the 8.25 chrylser axle. thanks.

That depends on the 8.25. Late 97 and up has axles equivalent to the D44. Gears are similar too. If you have the earlier version, yes axle size is about like the D35. That shouldn't be a concern unless wheeling with a locker on rocks. You can change out the axle shafts to correct that when upgrading gears. You will have to pull them anyway.

Yes it will bolt right in with no changes, but would be a great time to upgrade the brake line cause yours will probably break when you take it apart lol mine did when I upgraded brake lines

Your gear choice is your own of course, but for a daily driver/off road combo you might want to consider 4.10 for 32's. 4.56 is good for 35's (assuming automatic transmission of course).

I mention this because you MIGHT be able to find a 97+ C 8.25 with 4.10 gears from the factory.
