Well a buddy from grade school calls me and asks if I still wanted that old tractor, and of course my answer is "hell ya". This tractor was purchased new by his grandfather and work the family's 128+ acre farm in Cut & Shoot Texas. The tractor has lots of history with him, like his dad learned to drive it when he was 8 and my buddy learned to drive it when he was 8. The tractor was parked due to a dragging starter and his grandfathers health on the decline. That was 12+ years ago and since his father passed 5+ years . Now the farm is up for sale. He has no place to keep it or a desire to fix it. So he took my offer I made years ago. If you have no desire to keep it give me first dibs.

So the good stuff. I pulled the starter (not hard already hangin) and I'm getting ready to rebuild it. I pulled the gas cap and to my surprise clean metal and zero varnish:love0007:. So its a carb kit and a starter rebuild (new points) and some wires and i bet it will drive up on the trailer. Another bonus it has been converted to 12v

Looks a lot like my grandpaws 48 ford tractor, but he traded it to the neighbor for a new case tractor in 54 so I never got to drive the old ford.

I love old tractors... have found a few around where I used to live... and once I find a place I could have one and rebuild it... I'd love to pick me up an old one to rebuild... Can't wait to see what this one looks like after some of Matt's love!!

I was in my 1st auto accident when I was 14 driving a 1952 8N.
I was driving it to do a brush hogging job and a Renault Le car tried to pass as I was turning into a gas station, poor little car never knew what hit it.

Nice score!

Sounds like a good plan... I don't imagine getting parts for that thing would be very easy though!!??!! Can't wait to see a build/rebuild thread on this bad boy!!
