Can i add a 2 inch coil spacer on top of my 3 inch lifted coils? and then get 4.5 inch leaf in the rear for like 4.5-5.5 inch lift? heres the link for the coil http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/jeep-cherokee-xj/lift-kits/xj-2-front-budget-boost/

It can be done, but you cannot use your stock front upper and lower links. Beyond 3" you have to get the links for that height and you will need a slightly longer track bar. Rear is no problem except you will have to shim the axle to avoid driveline vibes.

can i add a 2 inch coil spacer on top of my 3 inch coil lift? then add a 4.5 inch leaf pack in the back for a 4.75 inch lift? (the coil spacer adds 1.75) heres the link http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/jeep-cherokee-xj/lift-kits/xj-2-front-budget-boost/

Don't see why not, shouldn't have any issues. Have seen (heard?/read?) it done many times.

He means upper and lower control arms. And if you leave the trackbar the way it is now, your axle will move towards one side of the jeep and stick out further on,one side.

The issue is castor angle. At 5" of lift, the angle becomes negative and will affect the steering and many times will cause death wobble if other stuff is just a little loose or worn. Probably need brake lines too

so all said if i were to go to with a 1.5 inch coil spacer and 4.5 inch leafs all would be okay, other than the need of control arms and brake lines? i should have just waited until i had enough money for a bigger lift. But being a silly highschooler i got to excitable and went for it haaha

Typical mistake. You can still pull it off, but it does pay to make long range plans and do it the way you want to end up the first time. Also I would suggest that instead of buying links, get a long arm kit. Not that much more and well worth it for taller lifts

I just put 2 inch spacers on my xj with a 3 inch lift I already had 4.5 lower control arms and shocks and brakelines you should be fine with 1.5 spacers my axle is still centered and I have a stock trackbar I did have to leave my swaybar disconnected it rides stiff with it hooked up. If your axle does go off center you can just drill a new hole on the axle side mount a 1/8 inch from the factory hole it should line back up if not yea you will need a adjustable one.since my coils were settled I acutely only gained 1.5 lift so mine probably 4 inches right now lol 921922

You can, if you want to......
Check your shock length 1st, might need shocks to go with those...;)

For right now if yer wantin to get 4 1/2 do a bastard pk Cherokee mixed with S-10 leafs. My other jeep has that on it and it rides good. Front you will need coils if you want you can get 3 inch rustys and some spacers. At that height you won't need a sye but you wil need to upgrade all 4 shocks. Rough Country usually has the best deal on shocks. If you do happen to go this route get the ones for 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 lift that way you won't have to buy more if you decide later to go up to 6.

You mix and match the leaf pack, keeping the main leaf from the XJ.

SeniorGustas

and use all the leafs from the s10? for about 4.5 inch lift?

Yes. You leave main Cherokee leaf on and then a S-10,Cherokee,S-10,S-10 and the smallest Cherokee to finish out. You should have a total of 5 leafs. That will give you a 4 1/2 inch lift. When I get home ill take a pic of mine to show you.

You can get the same lift by cutting off the eyes of the main leaf and using all leaves below the XJ main. Much easier to put together that way

I would do the s10 Basterd pack as Steve suggested then use the coils offf a V8 grand with a one inch spacer in the front . This should put you at 4" front to rear. You can cut and sleeve the track bar so its cool , same with the sway bar links front and rear or just remove them if thats your thing(not mine). Just need shocks and you should be set for a while.I have personally done this several times with friends so I know it works and is a decent alternative to a store bought lift.

Lots of info in this thread. Don't forget about brake lines and possible driveline vibration.

good point!

Not sure how much extra you can get out of the stock brake lines.

For driveline vibs a cheap "fix" is to do a tcase drop. The best fix would be an SYE though.

If he only goes 4" then the brake lines are fine. And at that height no need for a SYE yet.
