The motor mounts are different. .
The locations on the frame/unibody are the same i think.

never done a motor swap or rebuilt an engine before. an ideas on how much it would cost to rebuild it myself not including the price of the engine?

so if i had a donor car with an I6 would i be able to drop it in with its motor mounts?

donor xj with the I6 would drop right in if you already had the I6

awesome, i wouldnt have to work with my tranny or anything else right? theyd bolt right up? because i have the 4 speed manuel, hopefully one day switching to a 5 speed

Just make sure you swap over the wiring harness, computer and all sensors.....
You'll have a hard time going from a Renix body to HO drive train but it can be done.
The bell housings from one to the other are going to be different too I think.

You need to retain the transmission from the donor that has the I6. The 4 cylinder tranny will not bolt to the I6. Wiring is slightly different from a manual and automatic too.
