Alright guys. I have a 99 XJ and want to order new front Timken Unit Hub Bearings. Now my year calls for 2 different kinds. Either a Ball Bearing kind if you have Cast Rotors or a Tapered Bearing kind if you have Composite Rotors.

My question is which are better.

Ball Bearing

Tapered Bearing

I can get either one,... all I have to do is make sure when I order,... that I order new rotors to match which bearings I decide to go with.

So just would like to know which would be the better bearings to get Thanks.

Tapered will last longer and will take more abuse. I would select tapered but most places have just the ball type. Only NAPA here has tapered unit bearings and they are special order.

Hey thanks. I will be ordering form rockauto.com anyway. I can get them for $77 apiece.

Good price, last ones I put on were about 5 years ago and were $85 at the time for tapered roller bearings from NAPA.
