Thanks, this is my first time on this forum, so I'm trying to get a feel for it. I own an 89 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a 4.0L 6 cyl motor. I traded a Honda Accord for it. It is bone stock and I am trying to work out some of the bugs in it. One issue it has is when I turn on my headlight switch, the left turn indicator comes on, on the dash. I also can't turn on my interior light using the headlight switch. Any knowledge with these issues would be greatly appreciated.

The interior light might be the headlight switch. There is a rheostat that wears out over time. The indicator light is a tough one. It is caused by current bleed where the plug goes into the back of the dash. Might have to get a new dash to fix that one, or at least the printed circuit for it. Does the interior light come on when the door opens?

Yes, all of the interior lights work with all of the doors, but not the HL switch. The left indicator light only comes on when I turn on the headlights and the left blinker works, but is slow when I turn on the headlights. I was thinking that might be the switch also (???).

No, it is the printed circuit on the back of the instrument cluster. And you need the switch for the dome light. Been there done that myself.
