Need a little heater help. I got a 98 and my fan control only works on high. I went to the doner and got another control and it does the same thing. Any ideas.

Your ballast resistor is shot. It is located on the blower housing below the glove box

X 2 on ballast resistor being the likely problem.

After you get a replacement ... remember to remove it occaisionally and clean out the rubbish it collects.

mine works ok, but if i have it set on 3 or 4, it will blow out the selected vents, then go full blast out the windshield vent, then go back to the others like nothing happened, its almost like a cycle, any ideas?

Yours is a vacuum issue. Check your reservoir behind the front bumper for cracks, also the vacuum hoses.

Very helpful. I just bought a '99 and it only blows on 4. I'll have to replace that resistor soon.

Well the reservoir wasn't the issue... it was the hardline coming up had about a 4" section missing, and someone had tried to seal it up with a thin wall rubber hose, so i got some heavy hose, zip-tied it on, and now my heater works better, and my jeep actually runs smoother and quieter.
