Hi guys
Found this site trolling the web for build threads.
I currently own 95 XJ Cherokee limited. I have only had it for about 6months and am very happy.
I reside in Gympie, QLD Australia.
My Jeep currently has a combination of 2inch shackles and bastardised leaf pack (Nissan patrol) with wedges in rear giving approx 4 to 41/2 inches and toyota landcruiser front springs and 2inch lift blocks in front giving approx 4 to 41/2 inch front lift.
I have installed 1.25inch trans drop kit.
have installed aftermarket lower front control arms from Fat Bob's garage.
I have extended the lower front shock mount height using longer bolts.
Rear shocks are toyota Landcruiser units and have had modified upper mounts fitted.
I have fitted cheap 17,000lb winch.
Currently sitting on Goodyear 31x10.5x15 A/T ON STOCK RIMS.
Also fitted adjustable front trackbar.
Replaced radiator last week. Have also converted to twin thermo fans and dropped the stock mechanical fan.
I have also mounted 2 LED light assemblies on inner of tailgate to give some light when doing stuff around the back end of the vehicle when out and about at night.
Currently have intermittent knock at rear of engine... suspect cracked flex plate......Also the usual RMS leak.

Have done a few other little bits and pieces but more to be done as thought of....

I am a mechanic by trade so it makes things a little easier when working on the beast... Unfortunately I can,t go as far as I'd like to with building it up due to restrictions in Australia....but I will go as far as I can.

Hey Sean. Great to see another Aussie Jeeper on here. Your just down the road from me, I'm in Bundy. Your Jeep would have to be the most interesting build I have read about and I've read a few over my years of jeep addiction. Land Cruiser suspension?? And a 17,000 pound winch!!? Yikes, hope the tow truck driver hasn't caught up with you yet :stars:

How do I post pictures

Sean XJ

Ok I try this
It should show my facebook album

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4091671443621.169593.1037791791&type=1&l=a30e1d8da1

Right click and open in new tab and it should load straight up.
The beach shots were with 2inch lift and no winch. The bush shots are 41/2 inch lift and winch fitted.
Cheers
Sean

There are two ways Sean. The best is to use an image hosting service as Photobucket. It is free and all you have to do is paste the "IMG" code in the pop down that appears below an image when your cursor is on it. This is the most manageable option and works best with multiple pics. The other is to click on "Advance Options" when posting and then on "Manage Attachments" and then upload from your computer

Well last night was fun. Was going to the inlaws to replace an alternator on their VX commodore v6 when the old XJ upper idler bearing decided to tear itself to pieces and sliced into the heater pipe hardline spewing coolant everywhere.

Lucky a roadside assistance guy pulled up and towed me the remaining 18km of a 100 km trip for nothing.
A mate lent me some solder and a blow torch and we managed to fill the slice in the steel pipe.
Was stuck for a pulley but then I asked if he had any commodore a/c idlers laying around. Perfect fit just had to space the bolt out a little to clear the pulley.

Worked a treat. Have now done approx 300km with this setup and not a problem.
