thanks blue xj , im a retired aerospace mechcanic engineer , I have an 88 xj and a 96 xj . is it possible to swap engines . 96 to 88 both are 4.0 liter found you guys just looking around

You can swap the block and head for a performance upgrade. But you need to retain the intake and all sensors for the Renix era electronics. You could also add a 2000 - 01 intake and retain the throttle body and make all sensors the same for a little more hp.
