Soooo the other day while I was patiently filling my radiator on my jeep, I got to thinking .... HOW is it that the fill area of my cooling system is LOWER than the highest point on my system, meaning if I fill my radiator the ultimate goal is to have it full of coolant with no air pockets... well the problem I saw was that the hose that goes into the thermostat housing is HIGHER than my radiator cap... I also own a Dodge Durango and it has a little item on there that Ive been thinking of adding to my cooling system in the jeep to help with filling the system more appropriately

installing this at the highest point which is in the upper radiator hose... please anybody add thoughts or discussion to this
Thank you!

I have the same thing on mine. Radiator hoses goes over the top of the radiator and down. Yes it can trap some air in there, but you need some just to account for expansion and contraction of the fluid or it just goes in and out of the overflow. What counts is that the fill be higher than the highest part of the water jacket.

there is a TAD bit of clearance there and if I get the longer upper hose it routes behind the a/c compressor and therefore can be pushed down to clear the hood, I already took that into consideration
