So it should just slip right in there, right?

Yep it will bolt in just like the original. You MAY have to swap intakes and sensors if you want to keep your renix fuel injection, which is what 90 and older xj's have. Not sure what year the wrangler made the switch to the HO 4.0.

Which are better? The ones one the wrangler or the 89 Cherokee ?

Well the 4.0 HO is a better setup in my opinion. But to swap the the HO setup you would need the HO engine out of the wrangler as well as all the wiring and the ECM. The renix system is alright though. So to make it easier i would just get the HO engine and swap all you renix specific sensors over to the ho motor.

Dont know how much you know about jeep engines, but you if you know chevy this is the best way i can expain it. Its like comparing a throttle body injected 350 to a vortec 350, same basic motor design but totally different operating system.

I see, yeah I've been looking in to it more and it seems a lot easier to just swap the stuff than try and use the wranglers
