Dana 44?

buddy at work told me that if my 87 came from the factory with a tow package (which it did) then i may have a dana 44 in the rear is this true? and is there anyway i can check or verify its true? :pray:

Just take a pic of the rear diff and post it here we will tell ya for sure. It could have the d44, but more likely its a d35.

Like Nick said it is possible but unlikely. Jeep only put them in some of the '87-'89 XJs with the towing package. If it does, hold on to it.

I think most the woody xjs have the d44 rear.

well it is an 87 cherokee with the tow package i'll get a picture up tonight but that diagram should help, thanks!
