They are cast just like block so its gonna have to be some one who reallyknows what they are doin.Best bet is do like I am gonna do get a set of Brown Dog motor mounts.Mine on right side is broke so bad no bolts will hold and have a 16 inch piece of the stock jack handle holdin the motor up on that side.

I'd say look into picking up a set of good mounts like either the Brown Dog industries (http://browndogindustries.com/cherokee-xj-1987-2000-40l.aspx) ones or even our the ones like from one of our vendors IronMan4x4Fab (http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Products/MM.html). I got one of my mounts going out.. So I'll be looking at picking up mounts from Andy @ IronMan once I get some extra money so I can replace my stockers with something built to beefy proportions like Andy does.. so I know they'll last!!

I wouldn't do it. I'm using Brown Dog on the block so I'll have more tie in points on my new 4.0....

I can't really say which is better.. But I would def say that Andy's stuff is always pure beef by design.. and for the pricing I am def. going with Andy's products... not to mention send him a message and mention :xjtalk: and you can get a bit more off of the already nice price... I wouldn't recommend welding the stock mounts... but that is just my 2 cents

That would be my recommendation, but you might want to wait a bit longer and see if someone has done it and why it was, or wasn't a good idea.

Ironman makes the same type of motor mounts as Brown Dog? As in the whole new engine brackets?
