found a reasonably priced bumper on ebay and took a shot at it. here it is:

anyone running these or have any experience? The plan is to start with this, then add a tire carrier later. although, with 1/8" steel, I'll have to beef it up a bit. Been wanting a welder anyway....

Also ordered a 10K lb winch from Engo. Guess I should start a build thread to keep up with stuff like this.

Yes, a build thread would be nice. You will need that welder. To use the usual spare tire carrier you will need to replace the nut strip inside the frame with a 2X3" piece of steel that has nuts welded on it so it functions as a nut strip as well as bumper mount. And a build thread would be nice.

Thx Steve. 10-4 on the build thread, although this will be the first round of mods I've done to it.

Winch is here! Looking forward to getting it on.. the jeep.

I was just looking at that same exact bumper last night on EBay.. I like that one but found another company that has an awesome front bumper, rear bumper and sliders for a pretty good deal.. I'll see if I can't find the store link for that one..

James, post it up! Sliders are on my list. I'll update everyone on how this bumper looks and fits when it arrives.

James if the ones you are talkin about are the ones I think they are look at the sliders. Are the ends open?If so they arent what you want.I had looked at those before and asked some on here about them. Not high quality or strength in any of the 3 pieces. Just my 2 cents worth.

Been running that rear bumper for years and has worked flawlessly. Mine has been slightly modified, welded gussets from it to my hitch when I used a hitch mount spare tire carrier on it.

Marc, what size D-rings can it hold? was hoping 3/4 but I think I'm going to wait to buy them to be sure.

3/4 fit perfectly.
