Ok the 2000 XJ has a passenger light out, so I popped a new one in,...

Still no low beam,.. WTF?

So I meter it out power to high and low, ground is good meters to the battery,..

So I plug the headlamp in and the voltage drops from just under 12V to basically nothing,...

Thoughts before I dig in?

Whats your best guess?

I enjoy a good conundrum Jensen

Two things. How much resistance, like how many ohms to the ground?

If you disconnect the positive battery cable and turn on the light switch how much resistance from the headlight plug to the cable?

You just performed a basic voltage drop test in the circuit. And be careful with measuring resistance cause it can be misleading. So you must have green death (corrosion) or a poor connection further back into the circuit. You will have to continue following wires looking for signs of it.

You want your ground to be less than 10 ohms. How much did you measure for voltage drop on your positive side from battery vs light? Did you get an open from + to - and ground?

Havent dove into it yet,.. but judging by the corrosion on the turn signal plugs and wires in that area I believe I will find some coppet rot,.. Hopefully it stops raining so I can play

Once its all up to snuff and I go through it someone has already requested to adopt this little guy :)

Yup sooo ummmm 2 hrs of diagnostics, new harness for the headlamps, same result,.. No headlight on p/s side.

Dumb it down,...

Did you know there are 2 fuses for the headlights!?!??!? Wtf on for the left and one for the right??

Yeah you guessed it,... No fuse in the p/s lamp holder

Both front doors and hatch looked like this,.... No wonder nothing worked!!!

Brush on insulator and some solder everything is AOK
