Ugly mouldings gone, speedo swapped for one that works, oil change and it seems pretty happy now. Took it for a spin last night and it's got great power.

Not quite sure, speedo was non functioning. It's not a über low mileage truck from what I can tell be rock chips and such.

What is the smog equipment like up there? One of these days we will be looking for a Red 98 or 99 for the wife. If we can make it work, then one of your rigs would be a possibility.

I think the smog stuff is all the same,.. We don't have to test here yet though

That is good to know. We have national specs here that are the same for all vehicles. But I wasn't sure if that applied to you folks or not.

They were up until OBDI. After that, it was nation wide.

Well #8 has now been nicknamed "Rattle and Hum" as upon fire up it has some good lifter/rocker tick. It seems at initial start up it takes some time for it to build up oil pressure. If you drive it, it sounds awesome after, no noise what so ever. Shut it off and wham there it is again on fire up. The engine has TONS of power and it was a blast tearing through the mountain passes last weekend. :driving:

So I am thinking a good flush and possibly a new oil pump may be in order. The good side is it does not leak at all (not even the rear main!!) and from the dip stick it has not consumed one drop of oil.

In the time I have had #8 I have managed about 2500KM of flawless driving, but have uncovered a few things to repair before it can leave the nest to its new home.

Needs a tranny flush (works fine just a bit dark for my liking)
Power window power distribution line to other windows has a short (works sometimes) So the main panel always has ability to open and close windows , individual doors on occasion.
Windshield (replaced now)
Drivers seat has a wiggle, likley a cracked weld.
Engine flush/oil change/possible oil pump
small shimmy at high speed
P/S head lamp out again
Proper top to bottom interior clean
door popper buttons on handle need adjustment


I have to get it fixed and find a new home for it before I get attached,..:cry:

Well #8 is leaving foster care this weekend, its rehab is almost complete and the new owner Steve (Jeep Guy) will be taking ownership of it Friday,... It's off to a good home to get a lift and 33's :)

so had her out today an blue a tire on it so put on the small spare it comes with what a shitty frist day with it an cant get a new tire so it was time for it to go under the niff cuz i have some tire but they just will not fit with out a lil bit of help :bang:

well time has come to do some more work on #8 one of the boxes came in today to put on the bush wacker fender flare flat ones just came in bumper in the mail on its way

well its been a long time since i been on here well # 8 is still on the road an is not getting a 6.5 long arm lift when all done more info will be posted about this build dana 44 goign in an 4.88 gear with e-lockers

So is that supposed to be is now getting a 6.5" LA lift, or is it supposed to be not?? Either way it's looking good and look forward to seeing the progress of #8!!
