I've always thought I wanted my gearshift to be just a little longer. I like my seat almost all the way back and I'd have to lean forward a little bit to get to 5th gear. Also, I wanted to rest my elbow on my console while shifting.

So....I came up with a home brew redneck gear shift extension.:D:

It makes it just perfect for me. I love it. Simply two coupling nuts and some all thread. Took about 5 minutes.

You know they sell these on eBay for about $15. When you do a transfercase drop or body lift on a Wrangler many people want the shfter extended. I need to put one on my wife's TJ because of the TC drop.

Nothing redneck about that. I have done that several times. You should have seen the extensions on my twin stick tcase in my CJ

Yeah, but I was buying some other stuff for my semi at Fastenal and got the two coupling nuts for 75 cents. I had the 10M all thread for some crazy reason, so the redneck version cost me a buck fifty.

When I do my lift, I may buy one of the pre-made up town ones if I end up having to do a TC drop.

That's what I'm saying! You found a cheap solution! :D

I like it! Always love when people figure out ways to do things using their noggins instead of their wallets!

I like your solution much better than the storebought. Way to go Nate.
