Hey guys. names chase. Im in ft. myers florida.

I recently picked up a slightly modified 96 xj with 130k in extremely good condition
mods: 3" rough country lift, 31" goodyear authority A/ts, tinted windows, waterproof cd player.

Little bit of background on me: My first car ever was a Jeep liberty, now this was a problem in high school as it was looked at as a "girls car".. this needed to be addressed promptly. I lifted it 5", 32" bighorns, renegade roof lightbar, bumper fogs, blacked out high school tinted windows, flip out dvd player, jl audio 12W7, cb with pa. spent a lot of time on Jeepkjcountry forum. I wheeled the crap out of that and actually surprised a lot of local guys with its capability. Next, i went off to college to study mechanical engineering at FAU. At 12mpg the jeep was no longer financially practical for a working full time college student. I sold that and bought an 07 ZX6R. realizing the dangers of driving a motorcycle in Boca Raton, FL, I got rid of that took out a small loan and got an 05 VW GLI. my greatest hobby is to turn a wrench so soon i had that thing pushing 28lbs of boost running all stage 2 software. it was fun and all but the low life wasnt for me. I needed space between my floorboard and the ground.. lots of it!! Sold the gli bought an 07 R6 for gas mileage when we have nice weather and the xj to build again. whew sorry for the long story but you all are bored on here reading stuff anyways so crack a beer and relax.

Plans: Lift to around 5-6", Front recovery/winch bumper, new cb, lights, overhead and fogs, 32" M/Ts, and do some nice little touches to the interior that i will post threads later.

I look forward to being a part of this community,

Cheers, Chase

Haha ya I know about the c word. But that's why it was in quotes. Those were spectators words not mine. But ya I wish they never phased out the Cherokee. I liked the comfort of the liberty but the interior wasn't ready to get muddy. With the xj ill get it down and dirty and it's straight.

Pics of the kj later when I get off work.

Ya we have a few nice spots to sling some mud and then some decent trail places with nice scenery. we've had tons of rain the past couple of days though. Once I get new tires (someone slashed mine :() ill be heading out there to play.

And xj wheeler, thanks. I love the dark blue with black.

Thanks! I miss her everyday. Have a nice shot of her front side on my fridge I look at every day. Remember all the great times I had offroad and in the back seat in highschool ;)

butttt... lift was about 4.5" pretty much maxed out the CVs without grinding them down. it was a combination of OME coils, KK clevis, and conduit nuts that got me to 4.5". she sure road nicer than the xj. super smooth!

Now that's how a liberty should look. Nice!

I'm actually working on a version similar to that, RC that is.
