hey yall. this is my first time on here. hopefully yall can help me out!
I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo (XJ). I was off road with it the other day and i ran it pretty hard. it ran fine the whole time out there. but on the way home it stalled out on the turn into the neighborhood.
Now it run's perfectly fine when im actully driving it. but when i have to stop i have to put it in Neutral and keep my foot on the gas soo i dont stall out.
Any ideas on what could be causeing this??

The first thing to check is the Idle Air Controller located on the throttle body. Generally, they are just dirty. So pull it and clean everything up and it will probably straighten out.

My brothers '90 did the exact same thing for months, figured out it was the tps (throttle position sensor).

i went ahead and cleaned my idle air controller. it seems to of helped it no longer stall out. but my rmp's when idle are extremly low.
do you think that could be a result to the tps being bad??

IAC Idle air control

motor, connector and control valve are my only options. Here's the map sensor http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Duralast-MAP-Sensor/1998-Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-2WD/_/N-ja2f5Z9gsm7?itemIdentifier=195775_0_0_
